First Honorary Bum of the Day

J.J. Davis, formerly known as Jerry C. Davis is one of the all-time great bums who have put on a Pittsburgh Pirate uniform. The Pirates selected this joke in the 1st round of the 1997 draft (8th overall)

In 2002, he went 1-for-10. In 2003, he batted .200 (7-for-35). Then in 2004, he batted a friggin .143 going 5-for-35. The Pirates traded him to another joke team, the Washington Nationals...

While there, he showed his 1st round pick potential and batted .231 (6-for-26). He was traded to the Rockies organization, but they were smart enough never to let him play in the majors again. He retired and left the sport. He's probably playing pick-up basketball as we speak.

Davis earned himself a career batting average of .179, a definite top bum candidate.

FACT:
In his time in the MLB, Davis made $616,500. With him only tallying 19 career hits, that means he was getting paid $32,447 per hit! Nice draft choice Pirates! WHAT A BUM!
